Michelle lives outside of Philadelphia where she cheers on three amazing kids in college, high school and middle school. Originally from California, life has taken Michelle and her family from San Francisco to the Netherlands, Switzerland and now Philadelphia’s Main Line. Her oldest child attends university in Canada. Michelle credits the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a big part of her children’s preparation for college and life beyond high school.
Her oldest earned the Bilingual IB Diploma and her middle child is currently pursuing the same. Michelle loves to travel and explore new places with her husband and children. She recommends visiting colleges early on to expose kids (and yourself) to different types of campuses. They don’t have to apply to those particular schools, but it helps to have a better understanding of the variety of college environments. One size does not fit all. Michelle uses ScholarShare 529 to help fund her kids’ college educations, but has also used it to help with private K-12 tuition. She set up their accounts when they were very young with small amounts, which she has increased over the years. Monthly, automatic deposits are the way to go!
