Patrick and his wife live in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are the proud parents of two high school age children. Patrick’s oldest is his son who is a senior. He is interested in studying aviation in college and pursuing a career as a pilot. His daughter is a freshman and interested in majoring in engineering in college.
Patrick was drawn to the California ScholarShare 529 program due to the vast array of low-cost investment options and excellent track record of performance within the plan.
Patrick’s main advice for parents is to start saving for college the moment that your children are born and to solicit donations from friends and family members along the way. Looking back at our college savings plans, in addition to my monthly contributions, family and friends contributed to both kids accounts when they had birthdays or wanted to send Christmas presents. Over the years, the returns that were provided gained significant value and we are thrilled that we have saved enough money for both kids to pursue their educational goals in the future.
